The Gemini Connection

The Gemini Connection is a story filled with adventure, beautiful deep connections, and fascinating suspense.” –With Love for Book

Planet Tage is dying, and the best hope of saving it is gone.

Seventeen-year-old identical twins Evan and Simon share an extraordinary bond, a trait that’s both useful and invasive. They use their connection in their work at Scientific Innovations. Evan is a Mindbender, someone who enters the minds of scientists to spark ideas, join thoughts, and battle nightmares. Simon is a science prodigy and Tage’s best chance of survival.

Unfortunately, their unusual link often bleeds into their private lives. When Evan discovers his brother is keeping a secret from him, he lashes out and ignores requests to talk, and even pleas for help. By the time Evan tunes back in, he finds their connection severed and Simon missing.

He suffers a terrible case of survivor’s guilt. Moreover, he’s desperate. The fate of the world rests on Simon’s return, and Evan is willing to do anything to get him back—even working with his greatest rival, who also happens to be Simon’s boyfriend.

Evan finds allies among enemies and adversaries among friends. When nothing is as it seems and everything is depending on him, he must explore a dangerous aspect to his twin connection he never knew he had.

If he fails, he’ll lose both his brother and his world.

This is one of the best sci-fi stories I’ve read in a long, long time. What I loved about it the most was the dynamics in the relationships between, Evan and Max, Syd and Evan, Simon and Max, and of course, the Gemini connection between, Evan and Simon. The intensity of these relationships alone is enough to keep the reader intrigued page after page in Polen’s brilliantly penned sci-fi masterpiece.

Eventide

The darkness is coming . . .

The old house near Hode’s Hill, Pennsylvania is a place for Madison Hewitt to start over—to put the trauma of her husband’s murder, and her subsequent breakdown, behind her. She isn’t bothered by a burial plot on the property, or the mysterious, sealed cistern in the basement. Not at first. Even the presence of cold spots and strange odors could be fabrications of her still troubled mind. But how to explain her slashed tires, or the ominous messages that grow ever more threatening?

Convinced the answer lies in the past, Madison delves into the history of the home’s original owners, only to discover the origin of a powerful evil. An entity that may be connected to a series of gruesome attacks that have left police baffled. No matter where she turns—past or present—terror lingers just a step away, spurred on by a twisted obsession that can only be satisfied through death…

Mae Clair has done it again! In this final work of the Hode’s Hill Series which we’ve all been waiting for we are once again catapulted between two time lines… Past and Present.

I love a good ghost story that sets you on the edge of your seat. I have to admit, I didn’t like the ghoul… It gave me the creeps! I’d rather meet the Mothman from Point Pleasant!

#Poetryreadathon – Reflections: Poems, Songs and Muses by Kevin Cooper

What a huge surprise it was to find robbie’s review of my book floating around in the social media circles and on her blog… Thank you so much, Robbie!

Poetry readathon

Today, I would like to introduce you to songwriter, poet and author, Kevin Cooper. I recently read Kevin’s book, Reflections, and enjoyed it a great deal.

What Amazon says

Reflections is a collection of poems, songs and muses written from the depths of the soul. If you like things that make you wonder like deja vu and dreams, this may be the book for you.

My review

The lovely poems and songs by Kevin Cooper that are included in this collection are mainly optimistic and inspiring and, to a large extent, they revolve around love. You can sense the writer’s love of music and musical ability in the presentation of these poems which seem to vibrate to their own internal melody.

The lines are short and powerful, incorporated in to punch stanza’s which uplift the reader’s spirits.

One such extract from a poem called Together goes as follows:

“Together

Research: How deep do you go?

Every writer should read this post by the incredible Mae Clair.

Story Empire

Hi, SeERs! It’s another Mae Day on Story Empire 🙂

I know research has been discussed multiple times, including some brilliant posts by my colleagues at SE, but  I hope you’ll indulge me with my take on the subject.

Digging deep into research is something all writers face. No matter your story arc or characters, sooner or later you’re bound to run into a subject that requires deeper knowledge. As an example, it’s hard to write a believable airline pilot or land developer, if you don’t know how they operate. We all know the internet is a great resource, but you can only go so far in tracking down information. Ideally, if you’re researching a profession, speaking to someone in that career is going to net the best return. Pretty much a no brainer.

What about settings? It’s hard to visit Sedona, Arizona for your romantic suspense set among red…

My Baby Wrote Me A Letter

Eight months pregnant and her Navy husband away on a mission, Grace Freeman craves the security of her childhood home in Canada.
When a letter written by her long-lost mother is found in an old writing desk it creates a tear in the fabric of her family.
Can Grace find a way to bring peace to those she loves, or will a message from the past destroy their future?

This is a beautifully written heart-felt story that can be read in one sitting. I was immediately entranced and finished reading it so quickly I found myself looking for more.

It’s a brilliant read filled with both raw emotions and a nice balance of family banter.

Touching.
